WCS is so proud to have officer Richard "Sam" Hipskind as our school resource officer. Sam has been a leader from the beginning. Sam is heavily involved with The Indiana Resource Officers Association (INSROA) as well as National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). Sam has been the SRO at Wabash City for 10 years, but his leadership extends well beyond our school district borders. Officer Hipskind regularly leads county-wide safety meetings. Sam takes the security of his community VERY seriously and protects our kids with the same intensity that he protects his own.

 

Sam administers countless security protocols and systems for Wabash City and still finds time to do additional training and continue his education. He has completed hundreds of hours of SRO training and recently received the accreditation of Master Level SRO with INSROA--one of a few dozen in Indiana. He will soon received the national distinction of SRO Practitioner from NASRO. We are proud and beyond thrilled to have Sam as our SRO at WCS, where safety comes first.
